LPU Launches Special Scholarship Scheme for Children of teaching professionals
6/13/2025 11:04:10 PM

Early Times Report

Jalandhar, June 13: Lovely Professional University (LPU) has announced a special scholarship scheme to support the higher education of students whose parents are full-time educators. This financial aid is exclusively available to the wards of full-time teachers, principals, professors, educators, and laboratory technicians working in recognized government or private schools, or in institutions affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, NIOS, COBSE, or UGC-approved universities and colleges.
The Shikshak Samman Anudan scholarship is LPU’s tribute to the unwavering dedication of educators, ensuring their children can access quality higher education without being constrained by financial limitations. The scheme applies to over 150+ academic programmes offered by the university, ranging from diploma and undergraduate courses to postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes.
Under this initiative, eligible students who are not availing any other scholarship will receive a 20% financial aid on the total programme fee. For those already receiving a scholarship, an additional 20% aid will be provided on the remaining fee after deduction of the existing scholarship amount. This structure ensures that all eligible students receive meaningful support.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, “Teaching is among the noblest of callings, shaping not only minds but entire societies. Educators are the torchbearers of knowledge and values, often working selflessly to empower others. At LPU, we believe their commitment must be met with tangible support.
This scholarship is a gesture of collective gratitude and a step toward ensuring that the educators’ families are not limited by circumstance, but empowered by opportunity.”
With a student community representing over 50+ countries and an expanding network of international academic collaborations, LPU reflects a diverse and globally engaged learning environment. Admissions for the 2025 academic session are currently ongoing. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply soon to benefit from the scholarship scheme
