Early Times Report JAMMU, June 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Karate team has made the Union Territory proud by winning three bronze medals at the Sub-Junior, Cadet, and Junior National Karate Championship 2025, organized by the Karate India Organisation (KIO) at Dehradun from 11th to 15th June 2025. Where Hon'ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of Uttarakhand Smt. Rekha Arya was the chief guest and Hanshi Bharat Sharma President KIO presided over the function. The medal winners from the J&K contingent are: Moomin Hamid Malik - Bronze Medal in Sub-Junior Boys (+60kg, 12 years) Sehreen Jaan - Bronze Medal in Sub-Junior Girls (-50kg, 12 years) Rudhra Pratap Saini - Bronze Medal in Cadet Boys (-70kg, Kumite) The 42-member team, comprising players from across Jammu & Kashmir, was led by Ambedkar Gupta, President of the Amateur Karate-Do Association of J&K and recipient of the Parshuram Award. Expressing his pride, Mr. Gupta stated, "After a long interval, J&K has once again marked its presence on the national medal tally under the banner of the National Federation (KIO). The success of our young athletes is a testament to their hard work and the dedication of our coaching staff."
