Udhampur, June 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reaffirmed his commitment to eliminating terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, announcing that security forces have been granted full authority to neutralize terrorists and dismantle their support networks. He said that security forces have been given complete freedom to act against terrorists and dismantle their ecosystem. Speaking at the passing-out parade of the 17th Batch of Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) and 26th Batch of Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) at the Udhampur Police Academy, Sinha emphasized a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism. “I have given a free hand to the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces to deal with terrorists and their ecosystem,” Sinha declared, urging the police, Indian Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to collaborate in wiping out terrorism. A total of 49 DySPs and 1,112 PSIs completed their rigorous training at the academy, equipping them to tackle modern security challenges. Sinha called for intensified strikes on Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and those providing logistical and financial support to terrorists. “These elements must be brought to justice,” he said, stressing the need for intelligence-driven operations and community vigilance to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts. The Lieutenant Governor urged the J&K Police to leverage Artificial Intelligence for enhanced data collection and analysis to counter threats and prevent radicalization. He also emphasized the importance of beat and area policing, stating, “There is no alternative to beat policing. We must balance technology and human intelligence to fortify our security apparatus.” The training program at Udhampur Police Academy equipped recruits with expertise in New Criminal Laws, AI, cybercrime, narc-terrorism, counter-terrorism, and human rights. Director Garib Dass highlighted the comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare officers for evolving threats. Paying tribute to J&K Police personnel who sacrificed their lives, Sinha praised the force’s professionalism and bravery. “The nation admires your competence in handling multifaceted security challenges,” he said, calling on officers to uphold values of truth, justice, and good governance. Sinha inspected the ceremonial parade, took the salute, and felicitated outstanding recruits. He extended congratulations to the trainers, academy officials, and families of the graduating officers. The Lieutenant Governor’s address underscored a multi-pronged strategy combining technology, community engagement, and inter-agency collaboration to ensure peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. An oath was administered to the passing out DySPs and PSIs for performing their duties with dedication and honesty. Nalin Prabhat, DGP J&K, Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Saloni Rai, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur; senior officials of Police, Security Forces, and civil administration and family members of the passing out DySPs and PSIs were present. Lal Chand, Chairman, District Development Council, Udhampur; Pawan Gupta, Balwant Singh Mankotia, RS Pathania, and Sunil Bhardwaj- Members of Legislative Assembly, and prominent citizens in large numbers were also present on the occasion. |
