Early Times Report

Jammu, June 18: A pall of grief and uncertainty hangs over the University of Jammu following the tragic death of Vishal Bhardwaj, a 25-year-old fifth-semester law student, who fell from the balcony of Jambu Lochan Hostel on Tuesday night.
Known affectionately as "Bunny," Bhardwaj, a resident of Katra in Reasi district, was discovered unconscious by fellow students at the rear of the hostel shortly after the incident.
Despite being rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival, leaving the university community and his family in shock.
According to initial reports, Bhardwaj had appeared for his final examination earlier that day, showing no apparent signs of distress. The circumstances of his fall remain shrouded in mystery, prompting police to initiate inquest proceedings to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities are investigating whether the fall was accidental, a result of foul play, or driven by other factors. A postmortem was conducted on Wednesday at GMC Hospital, and the body was subsequently handed over to his grieving family.

Another post from a local update account highlighted the mysterious nature of the incident, underscoring the ongoing police investigation.
The University administration and police are under pressure to ensure a thorough probe to rule out any misconduct or negligence. The Jambu Lochan Hostel, located within the university complex, is now at the center of scrutiny as investigators piece together the events leading to the fatal fall.
