Majalta, June 26: Government Degree College Majalta organized an Essay Writing Competition under the able guidance of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma as part of the ongoing initiatives under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) on the theme "Say No to Drugs". The program was coordinated by Prof. Naresh Kumar, Head of the Department of Dogri and Coordinator of NCORD (National Council for Outreach, Research and Development). The event aimed to encourage students to express their views and creativity through writing.
Around 25 enthusiastic students participated in the competition, putting forward their ideas, perspectives, and concerns regarding the devastating impact of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities. In a closely contested event, Shagun Rajput emerged as the winner and secured the first position for her thought-provoking essay. Ayushi Sharma won the second position, while Palu Devi claimed the third spot for her insightful perspective. The principal, Dr. Shalini Sharma congratulated the winners and appreciated all participants for their active involvement. She appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged them to become ambassadors of positive change in their communities. She stressed the need for continuous awareness programs and student-led initiatives to combat the threat of drug abuse. |
