GCOE observed International Day Against Drug Abuse, Illicit Trafficking

Jammu, June 26: GCOE Jammu joined the global community in observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26th June 2025 with a powerful series of events aimed at raising awareness among students and staff about the dangers of Drug Abuse, organized by the college NCORD Committee under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar and convener Prof. Sunanda Rani along with committee members.
The event began with the screening of documentary on “Operation Sanjivani” followed by Slogan writing competition and Nukaad Natak performance that highlighted the real life stories of Drug abuse. After that an awareness rally was organized where students carried placards, banners and posters advocating for drug free life style.
Worthy Principal in the inaugural address emphasis the role of educational institution in shaping youth as a responsible citizen and educate them to refrain from drugs and choose a path that lead to healthy life. The programme reflected 2025 UN Theme “Evidence is Clear; Invest in Prevention”. Students of B.Ed & M.Ed classes participated in all the events with great zeal and enthusiasm. The programme was graced by the presence of faculty members including Dr. Rajinder Kour, Prof. Balwan Singh, Prof. Sarita Dogra, Prof. Roopa Kumari, Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Ms.Usha Kumari, Dr. Sonam Gandotra and all Non-teaching staff.
