GDC Sunderbani organizes extension lecture

Sunderbani, June 26: Govt. Degree College, Sunderbani organized an extension lecture and Pledge Taking Ceremony today on 26th of June, 2025 on Drug Abuse to commemorate International Day on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to curb the menace of drug abuse. The lecture was organized in order to aware the students about the ill effects of drugs as the young generation are most vulnerable to this malpractice. Prof. Davinder Kumar, Convener Nasha Mukt Committee was the keynote speaker for the lecture. He talked in detail about the symptoms and habits of an addict and the ways to deal with them. He also stressed upon the fact that addiction occurs only when one weakens one’s will power. The lecture ended with a healthy discussion and a few queries of the students were also discussed eloquently. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, H.O.D English motivated the students to keep spreading awareness in the society about this problem of drug abuse. Dr. Atal Bharti H.O.D Physics lauded the efforts of the organizing committee to organize such an informative lecture and too delivered an insightful lecture on the theme Say No to Drugs. Prof. Rajat Bhardwaj, H.O.D Sociology delivered an informative talk covering various aspects of substance and its psychological and physical impacts, legal consequences, and preventive measures. Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Department of Hindi was also present in this event.
