Walkathon organized by JKSPYM SLCA to observe “International Day Against Drug Abuse, Illicit Trafficking

Jammu, June 26: On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking – June 26, 2025, the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA), J&K and Ladakh in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India organized a Walkathon/ Awareness Run to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
The Walkathon commenced from South Block, Bahu Plaza parking and culminated at Panama Chowk, Jammu. More than 100 participants including students, staff members, and volunteers enthusiastically participated in the event, holding placards and raising slogans to spread the message of “Say No to Drugs”.
The event aimed to sensitize the public, especially the youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of choosing a healthy lifestyle. Through this initiative, SLCA emphasized the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in curbing the drug menace.
The walkathon concluded with a pledge on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. SLCA continues its efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, reaffirming its commitment to building a drug-free and healthier Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.
