Workshop on "Rejuvenation of Water Bodies held under JJM | | | Early Times Report KUPWARA, June 26: A holistic workshop on rejuvenation of water bodies and water quality in Kupwara was conducted by Mission Directorate Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K in collaboration with Piramal Foundation in Deputy Commissioner's office today. The workshop was attended by Mission Director JJM.J&K Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah, JKAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara Ms Ayushi Sudan, IAS Superintending Engineer hydraulic circle Kupwara, engineers from Jal Shakti of Kupwara district, officers from Agricultural Department, Forest Department, Horticulture Department & Rural Development Department. The workshop started with an introductory note from Mission Director, JJM, JK in which he emphasized about the need for rejuvenation of Water Bodies for long term sustainability of our water resources. Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara stressed about the need for interdepartmental coordination in conservation and preservation of precious water resources which have shown depletion due to various reasons in recent times. The workshop was held in collaboration with Piramal Foundation which is the Key Resource Center (KRC) nominated by Ministry Of Jal Shakti, Department Of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) Government of India, for Jammu and Kashmir under Jal Jeevan Mission. The Jal Jeevan Mission a flagship programme of Government of India aims to provide drinking water to rural households through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs).
