Two-week national workshop on dynamical systems, control concludes

SOLAN, June 26: A two-week National Centre for Mathematics (NCM) workshop on "Analysis of Dynamical Systems and Applications to Control Systems" was successfully organized by the Department of Mathematics, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, from June 9th June to 21st June, 2025. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the National Centre for Mathematics (a joint centre of IIT Bombay and TIFR, Mumbai). This academically enriching event brought together eminent mathematicians, researchers, and students from across the country to delve into advanced topics in dynamical systems and their applications in control theory.
The event was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of JUIT, Prof. R. K. Sharma, who encouraged the participants with his valuable presence and insightful remarks. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. A. K. Gupta, Dean (Academics); Prof. Sudhir Syal, Dean (Research & Internalization); Prof. Sunil Khah, Dean (Accreditation); and Prof. Shruti Jain (Associate Dean Research and Innovation). Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Pathak and Dr. Saurabh Srivastava were workshop coordinators, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Bajaj, Head of the Department of Mathematics, served as the convener of the workshop and played a pivotal role in the successful planning and execution of this academic endeavor. The workshop hosted a distinguished panel of speakers including Prof. Syed Abbas from IIT Mandi, Prof. A. K. Nandakumaran from IISc Bangalore, Prof. Mani Mehra from IIT Delhi, Dr. D. N. Pandey from IIT Roorkee, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Sardar from IIT Madras, and Dr. Tanmay Sarkar from IIT Jammu. Their lectures spanned a wide range of topics in mathematical modeling, stability analysis, nonlinear systems, and control theory, providing the participants with deep theoretical insights and current research trends in the field.
In addition to the lectures, tutorial sessions were conducted by Dr. Ranjith T from IISc Bangalore, Ms. Deeksha Srivastava from IIT Roorkee, Mr. Shivam Mishra from IIT Mandi, and Mr. Sarvesh from IIT Delhi. These sessions focused on hands-on problem-solving and helped participants to apply theoretical knowledge to practical and computational problems.
Participants, including faculty members, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students from various parts of India, actively engaged in the discussions and sessions throughout the two-week program.
The conclusion cemeony was conducted in the presence of Dean (R & I), Dean (Accreditation), HoDs of various departments, faculty members, participants and students. Organizers were felicitated with Shri Madbhagvat Gita and certificates. All the participants and students were awarded the certificate of participation. Workshop ended with a positive note and with a promise that learning will be continued till the goal will be achieved. All the outstation participants enjoyed and louded the great hospitality provided by JUIT. They made a special mention of Mathematics department PhD scholars, who made their stay very comfortable which finally impacted the fruitful learning.
