J&K Excise Dept organises Table Tennis tourney in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, June 26: As part of its ongoing campaign against drug abuse, J&K Excise Department, Udhampur-Reasi Range, today organised a Table Tennis Tournament at Subhash Stadium, Udhampur, to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Held under the theme "Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life", the tournament aimed to promote healthy lifestyles among the youth and raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug use. The event witnessed the participation of 45 players across different age groups and genders, reflecting strong community engagement and support for the cause.
The tournament was organized under the overall guidance of the Excise Commissioner, J&K, Sh. Subash Chibber, and the close supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Bhat.
Officials from the department, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in channelizing youth energy toward constructive activities. "This event is part of our broader mission to build a drug-free society by educating and engaging the younger generation through positive alternatives like sports," they said.
After the event, the participants were served refreshments, and winners were felicitated with trophies for their exemplary performance and sportsmanship.
