MCM observes International Day Against Drug Abuse | | | Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, June 27: Reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment, the Victory Against Drug Abuse (VADA) Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women marked the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with an online Pledge ceremony. The event was organised under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, as part of the nationwide campaign 'Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh' under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The online pledge ceremony drew enthusiastic participation from over 100 students and faculty members. Participants pledged to lead a drug-free life and actively contribute to building a healthier, addiction-free society. As part of the digital campaign, participants were encouraged to take selfies while making the pledge and upload them as a visual symbol of their commitment. Each participant also received a digital oath certificate, reinforcing the significance of their stand. Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma lauded the efforts of the VADA Club and emphasised the importance of sustained awareness and preventive education among youth. She added that empowering young minds with the right knowledge and values is the most effective tool in the fight against substance abuse. |
