Reasi police solves two theft cases in Katra, accused arrested, stolen property

Reasi, June 30:In a significant achievement, Reasi Police has successfully solved two separate theft cases reported in Katra town and recovered the stolen property within a short time span. Both cases were solved through swift investigation and effective police response.
A complaint was lodged by Pritam Singh S/O Budhi Singh R/O Sujandhar regarding the theft of mobile phones.
Acting upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 176/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at P/S Katra.
During the course of investigation, the police team developed leads and successfully apprehended the accused identified as Vikram Singh S/O Dhani Ram R/O Dhroor, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
Out of the three stolen mobile phones, two mobile phones worth Rs 45,000 have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Efforts are on to trace the remaining stolen property. Further investigation is underway.
In another case, a written complaint submitted by Sita Ram S/O Babu Lal R/O Gadi Mahmore, District Alwar, Rajasthan A/P Katra, an amount of Rs 12,000 was stolen from Shiv Dham Guest House, Katra.
Acting swiftly, P/S Katra registered a case FIR No. 179/2025 U/S 303(2)/305(a) BNS.
During the course of investigation, Police identified and arrested the suspect, Dhani Shanker Choudhary S/O Madan Mohan Choudhary R/O Vikas Puri Colony, Delhi. The entire stolen cash amount of Rs 12,000 was recovered from the accused. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.
Both operations were executed under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bisham Dubey JKPS and SP Katra Sh Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
SSP Reasi Sh Paramvir Singh, while sharing the information of recovery expressed that Reasi Police is committed to protect property of citizens & further appealed to the Public of Reasi, Katra and other towns that they must make use of technology & install CCTV cameras in the premises of their shops for surveillance on these criminal elements in the society.
