LPU Launched RCI-Approved M.A. Clinical Psychology Programme
7/2/2025 11:58:52 PM
Early Times Report
JALANDHAR, July 2: Lovely Professional University has introduced a new postgraduate programme in M.A. Clinical Psychology, approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). This two-year course has been designed to meet the latest regulatory standards and equip students with rigorous clinical training, enabling them to become licensed Clinical Psychologists registered with RCI and eligible to practice in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and recognized institution.
Admissions are now open for a limited number of seats and will be closing soon. Candidates can apply by appearing for the LPUNEST exam, with scholarship eligibility determined through a 70:30 evaluation; 70% based on the LPUNEST score and 30% on interview performance.
What sets this programme apart is its strong emphasis on clinical exposure and hands-on learning. Students will engage in supervised field training across hospitals and rehabilitation centres, working closely under professional mentorship. This practical, immersive approach reflects LPU's EduRevolution; where real-world experience takes precedence over traditional, classroom-bound instruction.
Dr.Pavitar Prakash Singh, Senior Dean and Professor at LPU, shared, "The programme has been developed with a clinical-first approach, ensuring that students gain practical competencies alongside theoretical knowledge. The objective is to prepare graduates for immediate field readiness, aligned with the expectations of professional mental health practice in India."
The course offers a structured pathway for those aspiring to become RCI-licensed practitioners. With India witnessing growing demand for trained clinical psychologists, the programme provides a timely opportunity for students to enter the mental health profession with nationally recognised credentials and rigorous training. Admissions are now open. Interested candidates can apply through the official university website.
