Early Times Report JAMMU, July 2: A deputation of Apni Party leaders today called on Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, and submitted a memorandum, expressing over discriminatory language policy in Naib Tehsildar examination. As per a press release, the deputation led by District President Jammu Urban, Abhay Bakaya comprising; Provincial Social Media Incharge Jammu, Vaibhav Mattoo; Senior Vice President District Jammu Urban, Neelam Gupta; Vice President District Jammu Urban, Joginder Singh; Secretary District Jammu Urban, Sheekha Bhardwaj; Secretary District Jammu Urban, Vijay Parkash Gurtoo; Secretary District Jammu Urban, G.L. Pandita; District President KP Wing Jammu Chand Ji Bhat; senior leader Pankaj Gupta and Anshu Koul met the Deputy Commissioner Jammu. During their interaction with the DC Jammu, the deputation raised concern over the recent notification of Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) which mandated Urdu language proficiency as a compulsory requirement for candidates appearing for the Naib-Tehsildar examination. "This decision has sparked widespread concern and strong resentment among the aspiring youth in Jammu," the informed the DC, while handing over a copy of memorandum of the Party. They further said that this restricted policy on language for the examination excludes a large number of eligible and competent aspiring candidates who have pursued their education in Hindi or English medium. "This policy not only undermines the constitutional guarantee of equal opportunity of equal opportunity and public employment, but it also violates the spirit of linguistic diversity and inclusively enrichment in our laws," they said. Hence, the imposition of Urdu as the sole medium for Naib-Tehsildar exam creates an artificial barrier for candidates from Jammu, where Hindi and Dogri are the predominant languages. |
