| Juvenile caught with 10 rolls of banned Nylon thread by Pacca Danga Police | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 12: Today: Police Station Pacca Danga today apprehended a juvenile who was found in possession of 10 rolls of nylon thread (Gattu), which are banned by the District Magistrate, Jammu.
The police team of PS Pacca Danga noticed a suspicious person standing near a bike in Tange Vali Gali. On seeing the police, the person tried to flee but was caught. A search of his bag led to the recovery of the banned nylon thread.
As per the order of the DM Jammu (Order No. DMJ/LO/25-26/801-06 dated 25-06-2025), the use and possession of nylon thread is strictly prohibited. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 73/2025 under Section 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga.
The Chinese nylon thread (Gattu) is extremely dangerous as it is made of synthetic material coated with glass powder. It causes serious injuries to humans and animals, especially birds, and has also been responsible for several fatal accidents involving motorcyclists and pedestrians during kite-flying seasons.
Since the accused is a juvenile, his identity is not being disclosed as per legal provisions.
Pacca Danga Police appeals to all citizens to refrain from using banned materials like Chinese nylon thread and to cooperate in maintaining public safety and environmental protection. |
