Early Times Report GURDASPUR, July 17: The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. S. K. Misra, of Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU), Gurdaspur, has graciously wishes to establish a Chair in the name of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the university campus. This initiative aims to promote the values, teachings, and philosophy of the revered Guru among Faculty, Staff and students of university. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is revered by people of Punjab and many others across the world as a Messenger of God, an enlightened Teacher, a champion of human dignity and interfaith harmony, and a radiant spiritual Light for all of humanity. The founder of the Sikh faith, Guru Nanak was born in 1469 at Nankana Sahib, near Lahore in Punjab, India (now in Pakistan). Each year, in early November, the Sikh community around the world gathers in Gurdwaras homes, religious sites, and interfaith forums to celebrate Parkash Divas-the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. People from all walks of life and various faiths join in these spiritually rich celebrations. "Satguru Nanak Pargatiya, Mitti Dhund Jag Chanan Hoya" A Divine Teacher, Guru Nanak, has appeared; the mist of ignorance has lifted, and the world is bathed in celestial light. In a generous gesture, Sh. Surinder Singh, a former employee of SBSSU, has donated a sum of Rs. 51,000 towards this noble cause. His contribution reflects a deep commitment to spiritual and educational advancement in the region. The university community expresses heartfelt gratitude to Sh.
