HIRANAGAR, July 17: Govt. GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar today observed the birth anniversary of Late Shri Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji, a towering statesman, visionary leader, and a proud son of Jammu & Kashmir, with great reverence and enthusiasm.
The event began with the ceremonial garlanding of Shri Dogra Ji's statue by the Principal, Dr. Pragya Khanna, along with all faculty members, student representatives and civilians. A floral tribute was paid to the late leader whose dedication to public service, simplicity, and integrity continue to inspire generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pragya Khanna highlighted the immense contributions of Shri Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji in the field of politics, finance, and education. "Shri Dogra Ji was not just a politician, but a statesman who lived by the values of truth, humility, and justice. His role in shaping the economic policies of Jammu and Kashmir as the Finance Minister for over two decades is unparalleled," the Principal said.
Two Students namely Suhani Sharma and Neha Devi presented speeches, Shri Dogra Ji's life and legacy. The event concluded with a pledge by staff and students to carry forward the values of honesty, simplicity, and service to society that Shri Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji embodied.The whole program was coordinated by Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Staff Secretary. |
