Swedish Company Husqvarna organises awareness programme for Farmers

Reasi, July 22: Swedish Company Husqvarna in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu(SKUAST-J) and Reasi Farmers Producers Organisation(FPO) Ltd. organised one day long awareness programme on “Modern Farmers Machinery and Tools ” here at KVK, Reasi campus. Large number of farmers from different villages of the area enthusiastically participated in the programme.
The objective of the programme was to aware the farmers about the development of new machinery and tools to the farmers so that the farming efficiency can be increased.
The programme was organised under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor,Prof.B.N.Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J.
In the inaugural session, Dr.Banarsi Lal,Chief Scientist &Head of KVK Reasi warmly welcomed the participants and spoke in detail on the importance of improved farm machinery and tools.
He guided farmers on the role of new farm machinery and stressed on the use of modern farm machinery and tools to increase the crops production and productivity.
He highlighted different types of implements and tools used in agriculture and urged the farmers to use them for more profits.
He also spoke on the various state and central agricultural schemes undergoing in the district and suggested farmers to avail the benefits of these schemes.
Sh.Lovely Gupta, an expert from Husqvarna,Swedish Manufacturing Ltd. deliberated on the scope of new farm machinery and tools and created awareness on the latest implements and farm machines to carry out agricultural practices effectively. Sh.Rakesh Kumar,an expert from Husqvarna, practically demonstrated the use of new farm implements/machinery and guided farmers on their working.
He also guided participants on the maintenance of farm implements.
Sh. Deep Atri, CEO, Reasi Farmers Producers Ltd.spoke on the importance of FPOs and highlighted their importance to improve the livelihood security of the farmers.
During the programme literature on modern implements and agro-inputs were also distributed among the participants.
Sh. Kamal Singh and Sh. Jatinder Singh,progressive farmers of the area were also present during the programme who their experiences of farming with other participants.
In this training programme many quarries were raised by the farmers which the experts answered in a very satisfactorily way. The programme was assisted by Sh. Manohar Lal and concluded by Sh. Deep Atri with the formal vote of thanks.
