KISHTWAR, July 22: The District Legal services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar under the able supervision and guidance of Learned Secretary Slahuddin Ahmad and in compliance with the calendar of activities issued by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) for July 2025, organised an awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 at Government Degree College, the other day.
The Programme, conducted in collaboration with the host College, saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, NCC cadets and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVS).
Professor Sonika Sen anchored the event, while Professor Asma Javed set an encouraging and inclusive tone with her warm welcome address.
Legal experts and the resource persons for the programme were Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsels Sanveer Singh, Sandep Kumar and Vinay Kumar Shan.
Their insightful talk on the Act highlighted its substantial value in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical concerns.
