Jammu, July 25: President of the J&K National Panthers Party, Vilakshan Singh, today flagged off the 17th Holy Chhari Yatra to the revered Chandi Mata Mandir in Machail, Paddar (Kishtwar District). The spiritually significant event witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees including men, women, and children, who embarked on the sacred journey to pay obeisance at the ancient shrine of Chandi Mata. The yatra, an annual pilgrimage that holds deep religious and cultural importance in the region, has been organized by Shri Santosh Singh and Shri Sanju Bhagat along with their group, who have been instrumental in ensuring its smooth conduct year after year. Flagging off the yatra, Mr. Vilakshan Singh expressed his reverence for the tradition and highlighted its unifying spiritual message. "The Chhari Yatra is a symbol of our rich cultural heritage and devotion. It not only brings devotees closer to their faith but also reinforces the communal harmony and brotherhood for which Jammu and Kashmir is known," he said. Singh also offered prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity in the region, invoking the blessings of Chandi Mata for the well-being of all citizens. Amidst chants of “Jai Mata Di”, the yatris began their journey in high spirits, carrying the holy mace (Chhari Mubarak) that symbolizes the blessings of the goddess. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the comfort and safety of the pilgrims, with support from local administration, volunteers, and community organizations. The Holy Chhari Yatra is expected to culminate at the Machail Mata Mandir, where special prayers and rituals will be held, invoking peace, prosperity, and divine blessings for all. |
