REASI, July 25: In adherence to the directions issued by Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K UT, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Reasi, launched a two-day plantation drive on 25th and 26th July 2025 under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Reasi.
On the first day of the campaign, more than 550 saplings of various species were planted by staff members and students, across multiple locations in the district. The initiative is aimed at fostering environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices among the youth and the local community.
Tarsem Singh appreciated all the Zonal Physical Education Officers and field staff for their enthusiastic participation and support in making this green initiative a success. He stated that the district has been assigned a target of planting 1000 saplings, and with over 550 already planted on the first day, the drive will continue tomorrow to cover more schools and zones, thereby contributing meaningfully to the protection and preservation of Mother Nature. |
