GDC Ramnagar Commemorates 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas with Patriotic Fervour

Ramnagar, July 26: The NCC Unit of Government Degree College Ramnagar, in collaboration with the NCORD Committee, solemnly celebrated the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas under the able guidance and patronage of Prof. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal GDC Ramnagar. The day was marked by a series of commemorative activities paying tribute to the valor and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War.
The programme commenced with a homage ceremony, where faculty members, staff, and students observed a few minutes of silence in memory of the Kargil martyrs. This was followed by the screening of a short documentary film titled "Kargil Vijay Diwas", rekindling the spirit of patriotism and national pride among the attendees.
Dr. Pankaj Sharma served as the main resource person of the day and delivered an insightful address on the significance of the Kargil victory. Prof. Manmohan Singh also shared his views, highlighting the unwavering dedication and bravery of the Indian soldiers.
The event was further enriched by patriotic cultural performances, including a soul-stirring patriotic song by Cadet Jagir Singh, and reflections on the day by UO Rahul Kumar and Cadet Sanjeev Sharma, who spoke about the enduring legacy of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
The programme was coordinated and concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. (Lt.) Puyesh Kant Sharma, Associate NCC Officer of the college, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and dignitaries.
To foster creative expression and national sentiment, a poster-making activity was also organized, in which students participated enthusiastically.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of faculty members including Dr. Sunil Kumar (HoD Dogri), Dr. Sham Singh (Convenor NCORD Committee), and Dr. Nazakat Hussain (HoD Philosophy).
The day-long celebration not only honored the heroes of Kargil but also instilled a deep sense of patriotism and respect for the armed forces among the college fraternity.
