Inauguration of Zorawar NCC Training Academy at Udhampur

Udhampur, July 25: The Zorawar NCC Training Academy, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, was inaugurated today at Udhampur by Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General, JK&L NCC. The ceremony was graced by Brig D N Pandey, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ Jammu, and Ms. Saloni Rai, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, along with a host of dignitaries from the civil administration, education fraternity, and defence services.
Named after the legendary Dogra warrior, the Zorawar NCC Training Academy is a significant stride towards strengthening youth development and national integration in the region.
The academy is fully equipped to accommodate and train up to 400 cadets at a time, offering modern and robust infrastructure designed to meet the holistic training requirements of NCC cadets.
In his keynote address, Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli lauded the exceptional achievement of 6 J&K Bn NCC, which has successfully conceptualized, established, and operationalized the academy in a record time of just ten months.
He particularly praised the dynamic leadership of Col Sumit Bana, Commanding Officer, 6 J&K Bn NCC, whose relentless dedication has transformed the vision into a reality.
The establishment of the academy marks a major leap in extending the NCC footprint in the region and will play a pivotal role in enabling young minds to contribute meaningfully to nation building.
Deputy Commissioner Ms. Saloni Rai, in her address, appreciated the joint efforts of all stakeholders and emphasized the academy’s role in empowering the youth of the region with discipline, leadership, and patriotic values. She expressed confidence that the academy would emerge as a hub of excellence for cadets from Udhampur and beyond.
The event was attended by a wide spectrum of guests including Commanding Officers, ANOs/CTOs, school principals, and distinguished personalities from the field of education, alongside a large number of enthusiastic cadets.
All attendees were unanimous in their praise for the academy and acknowledged it as a landmark initiative that will significantly enhance training standards and motivate future generations.
The Zorawar NCC Training Academy stands as a proud testament to the enduring spirit of the NCC and the collective commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and future leaders of India.
