JAMMU, July 26: Govt declines extension of lease to Rotary Club Jammu for violations of the terms & conditions of the lease granted in 1980s. Following the decision, the J&K Housing Board has taken over the premises, situated at A/D Block Green Belt Park Gandhinagar, Jammu on 25.07.2025.
The Club was allotted 3000 sft land in Green Belt area in 1980s. However, the club, not only constructed the building on excess 604.50 sft but also encroached on additional around 1700sft land in the shape of set backs and land for parking, etc. The park the club was supposed to maintain for children was also used by the club by building chowkidar quarters on it and effectively using the whole patch of 22500 sft land illegally.
The property shall be used for public purposes as per norms, the order said. |
