Early Times Report
DODA, July 26: Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated across Doda district with immense patriotic fervor, as schools came together to pay rich tributes to the heroes of the Kargil War.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh flagged off a grand Tiranga Rally organized by the Chief Education Office here from Government Higher Secondary School (Boys). The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 400 students along with teachers and staff, proudly marching through the town with the national flag held high, evoking a strong sense of national pride among the public.
The rally was attended by Chief Education Officer Mohammad Hafiz, and Executive Officer Municipal Council Yasir Wani, who commended the students and organizers for their discipline and spirited participation. The initiative aimed at fostering patriotism and instilling in students the values of unity, sacrifice and national responsibility.
Besides the central rally, educational institutions throughout the district marked the occasion with a series of events including flag hoisting ceremonies, debates on patriotism and national security, patriotic song competitions, sports activities and painting contests. Several schools also felicitated local ex-servicemen, recognizing their invaluable service to the nation.
These district-wide celebrations served not only to honor the courage of the Kargil martyrs but also to inspire the younger generation with their stories of valor. The Education Department's efforts reflect a commitment to nurturing well-rounded citizens who value the sacrifices of India's armed forces and carry forward the spirit of national pride.
