| GDC Hiranagar organizes summer programme internship | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 29: Department of Geography, Govt. G.L.D.M. Degree College Hiranagar is proud to announce the successful completion of its 15 days Summer Internship Programme (Course Curriculum under NEP 2020) in collaboration with Irrigation Department (R.C.C Lower Division Hiranagar). This hands on training initiative ran from 01.07.2025 to 15.07.2025 under able vision of Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal GLDM Degree College Hiranagar and the guidance of HOD Geography, Prof. Namrata Chowdhary and Prof. Tammna Rajput ( Assistant Professor). This internship provided students with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in water resource management within irrigation sector. It also bridge academic knowledge with real world application, focusing on key areas such as watershed management, canal mapping and field based data collection using modern geographic tools. A total 23 students from Geography Department participated in this programme. Throughout the internship, students were guided by senior engineers and GIS experts from Irrigation Department. The Geography Department extends sincere thanks to Irrigation Department for their continued support and to all students for their active participation and dedication. |
