Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: GLDM GDC Hiranagar Organizes Blood Donation Camp in Collaboration with Yuva Bharat and District Administration Kathua GLDM Government Degree College, Hiranagar, in collaboration with Yuva Bharat and the District Administration Kathua, organized a one-day Blood Donation Camp-cum-Awareness Program on campus. Dr. Rakesh Minhas (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Kathua, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Anurag, noted social activist from Yuva Bharat, was the Guest of Honour. The Principal of the college, Dr. Pragya Khanna, was the Special Guest for the event. The program commenced with the plantation of Chinar saplings and other plants by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, symbolizing the commitment to both health and environmental sustainability. This was followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp and a formal welcome address by Phulail Singh, SDM Hiranagar. The event witnessed participation from community members, social workers, school students, and faculty from various institutions across the Hiranagar Block. An insightful awareness address by a medical expert set the tone for the importance of blood donation, followed by an inspiring speech by the chief guest, emphasizing youth participation in social causes. He emphasised on the fact that blood donation is not just a medical need,it's our moral duty and a true expression of being humane.Each unit of blood donated has the potential to save not just one but multiple lives.He also congratulated the college principal, Yuva Bharat team, team of sub district administration Hiranagar and NSS volunteers for the efforts The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Anoop Kumar, Tehsildar Hiranagar. The entire proceedings were conducted by Advocate Ketan Kumar, Yuva Bharat activist, with the dedicated support of Prof. Rakesh Sharma (NSS Advisor) and Prof. Shapia Shameem (NSS Program Officer) of GDC Hiranagar. A team of doctors and paramedical staff from the Sub-District Hospital, National Health Mission, and Bee Enn General Hospital, Talab Tillo, extended their medical expertise, ensuring safe and successful blood collection. The event witnessed a turnout of around 300 students from nearby schools and faculty members. A total of 72 units of blood were collected during the camp, marking the event as a resounding success in service to humanity. |
