JAMMU, July 29: IGNOU Regional Centre, Jammu organized a webinar on 28.07.25 on the theme "Indian Knowledge System- Reconciliation to Different Indigenous Knowledge System" to commemorate the fifth anniversary of New Education Policy 2020. The webinar commenced with a warm welcome note from Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director of IGNOU RC Jammu who presented an overview of National Education Policy 2020 vis-a-vis its implementation on ground and role of IGNOU in conceptualising the mandate of NEP by way of ODL. He reflected on the spirit of NEP 2020-which places Indian Knowledge Systems at the very core of modern education.
Following this, Dr. Asha Upadhya, Assistant Regional Director, IGNOU RC Jammu formally introduced the esteemed keynote speaker, Prof. Rajanish Shukla, Professor, Sampoornanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi and former Vice chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Vardha.
Prof. Shukla's lecture delved into the ontological foundations and historical trajectory of the Indian Knowledge System, exploring how it embodies a holistic framework spanning philosophy, science, arts, medicine and governance. He emphasized the philosophy of reconciliation and synchronization that seeks to harmonize ancient Indian paradigms with modern epistemologies, making learning more trans disciplinary and culturally rooted.
