1st Women Battalion conducted a plantation drive

JAMMU, July 29: In view of rainy season, an initiative towards environmental sustainability, the 1 Women Battalion conducted a plantation drive today, 28th July 2025, at Pargalta, Bajalta. The drive was attended by Sh. Vinod Kumar-IPS, DIG Armed/IRP Range, Jammu, alongside Sh. R.C. Kotwal, Commandant 1 Women Battalion, Sh. Vishal Manhas-Dy.CO, Ms. Anita Katal-DySP, Sh. Neeraj Gupta, Range officer social forestry Jammu and other officers and staff members of the battalion. The event witnessed active participation from all ranks, underlining the battalion's commitment to ecological responsibility and community welfare. DIG AP/IRP Range Jammu appreciated the efforts of the 1st Women Battalion for organizing the drive and urged all personnel to continue such initiatives across other locations.
During the event, 250 number of saplings of various indigenous species were planted across the designated area in Pargalta. The battalion emphasized ensuring proper care and maintenance of the saplings to support long-term ecological benefits. The plantation drive is part of a series of community outreach and environmental awareness programs being carried out by the 1st Women Battalion, reinforcing their dedication not only to duty but also to societal and environmental well-being.
