MLA Ch Vikram Randhawa inspects nallah in Sanjay Nagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa today visited the Sanjay Nagar area to inspect the deteriorating condition of the main nallah, accompanied by officials from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including Chief Transport Officer (CTO) Dharamveer Singh and field engineers. During the inspection, MLA Randhawa found the nallah to be heavily silted and damaged at several stretches. He raised serious concern over repeated incidents of overflow during rains, resulting in water entering residential houses and creating hardships for the local population. He warned that failure to take timely action could lead to major damage to life and property in the locality. MLA Randhawa issued strict on-the-spot instructions to the CTO and JMC officials to begin desilting work immediately and carry out necessary structural repairs. He also assured the local residents that the desilting work will be completed within a few days and added that his office will keep a close watch on the progress until completion. Furthermore, MLA Randhawa informed the public that he has already taken up this matter with higher authorities to ensure that adequate resources and attention are provided for both short-term relief and long-term solutions to the nallah issue. Several prominent local dignitaries and residents were present during the visit, including Ritika (Mandal President), Narinder Koki, Sahil Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Revail Bhatti, Monika Devi, Vijay Gupta, and others, who welcomed the MLA's swift response. MLA Randhawa reiterated his commitment to resolving public issues on priority and improving civic infrastructure across the constituency. |
