Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: In a focused effort to evaluate training preparedness and infrastructure standards, the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, visited the Commando Training Centre (CTC) at Sunjwan. The visit formed part of a broader review of the facilities supporting the specialized training of J&K Police personnel engaged in operational duties. Accompanied by senior officers, the IGP conducted a detailed inspection of key infrastructure components, including barracks, training grounds, the firing range, lecture halls, canteen, and other logistical facilities. He received a comprehensive briefing from the Principal CTC regarding the center's operational status and the conduct of various commando training modules held in recent months. Recognizing the increasing complexity of policing and counter-terror operations, the IGP underscored the need for continuous modernization. He called for enhanced physical training environments, and a strategic focus on psychological resilience training for commandos. He also emphasized the need to equip personnel with not only superior tactics but also the infrastructure to support high-end training. The IGP further directed that immediate attention be paid to areas requiring repair, reinforcement, or replacement. He recommended a systematic assessment of current facilities and suggested that infrastructure upgrades must go hand-in-hand with curricular advancements in commando instruction. Maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality were identified as non-negotiable aspects of the training environment. Senior officers including the DIG JSK Range, SO to IGP Jammu, SSP Spl Ops & Trg, SP PC Jammu, Dy CO IR 14th Battalion, SDPO Jammu East, IC Provisions and IC Estates, ZPHQ Jammu and ICPP Chatta were present during the visit. |
