JAMMU, Aug 1: 'All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy'.
To give a practical shape to this proverb, the Department of Physical Education, GDC Sidhra Jammu under the able guidance of worthy Principal Prof. Seema Mir inaugurated the Champions Hub TT Hall - a vibrant space to relax, recharge and rally- in a world moving so fast.
The event commenced with a formal welcome address by Mr. Deepak Kumar, PTI of the college, followed by formal ribbon cutting by worthy Principal of the college. Proceeding further, there was a special and energetic performance of TT among worthy Principal and other faculty members. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Seema Mir, who herself is a prolific sports person, elaborated at length about the relevance of sports in our lives.
She impressed upon the fact that sports not only acts as an effective stress buster but is also the best medium for holistic development of the youth, channelizing their energy in the right direction. In her speech, she also stressed that undoubtedly Initiatives like these will be encouraging for both students & staff of the college and will further motivate more students to come forward and enrol them at GDC Sidhra.
The event ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Sunil Bhat. All the teaching and non teaching staff members were present on the occasion. Students of presently running semesters also attended the event. |
