Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: A tree plantation drive was organized at Gharota Police Station by Jammu Police in collaboration with Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Raipur (Thather), Jammu, in celebration of Sanskrit Month, the initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability alongside the preservation of cultural and linguistic heritage. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officials, civil authorities, social workers, and local residents, united in their commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of Sanskrit values. SP Rural Brijesh Sharma, the chief guest for the event, inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a sapling. Commending the initiative, he said that every individual should plant at least ten trees a year. Planting is just the beginning nurturing trees with care is equally important, just as we raise our children.The police always helping such initiative. Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, reiterated the Trust's commitment. Plantation is a sacred offering that enriches both nature and the soul. As we observe Sanskrit Month, we pledge to preserve our language, traditions, and environment together." Sandeep Singh Katoch, and community leaders such as Zorawar Singh, Kuldeep Kumar, Pratap Singh, Rajdev Singh, Rakesh Gamdotra, Uttam Chand Sharma, and Dayal Singh, among others. The event concluded with a collective pledge to protect the environment, with each participant committing to plant and care for at least one tree transforming intent into lasting action. |
