Honouring Sacrifices
8/6/2025 11:28:29 PM
On the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over the job appointment letters to 158 Next of Kins (NoKs) of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists and reiterated the resolve of the government to provide the families of martyrs with every possible support.
The Lieutenant Governor saluted the courage and perseverance of families who have suffered from terrorism in Jammu Kashmir.
Wounds that have persisted for decades are now being healed. The terror victim families have suffered silently for years. For more than three decades, the terror state Pakistan shed the innocent blood through its proxy terrorist outfits. Time did not erase the pain of loss. Invisible scars on their souls are still visible.
Providing job letters to the NOKs of victims killed by terrorists is a recognition of the long-suffering endured by these families who lived their lives amidst the dark clouds of terrorism that gripped the region for decades.
The gesture stands as a reminder that the government is committed to acknowledging the sacrifices of innocent civilians and ensuring that their families are not left behind. By providing jobs to the kin of martyrs, the government is attempting to fill the vacuum of support that had long been missing. These families, who have borne unspeakable pain and trauma, are finally being seen, heard, and supported.
The empowerment of the Next of Kin is not just an act of welfare—it is a strategic step in the healing process of a society that has seen years of conflict. It sends a clear message: those who suffered in silence will now be empowered with dignity, employment, and a future. The administration’s commitment to supporting martyr families must continue with even greater vigour, extending beyond jobs to psychological support, educational aid, and sustained community development.
As Jammu and Kashmir moves ahead on the path of peace, development, and integration, the stories of these victims and their families must remain at the centre of our collective conscience.
Their courage, endurance, and sacrifice form the moral foundation of the region’s resurgence.
Let the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 not only be a reminder of a J&K’s complete integration with India but also a call to ensure that justice, humanity, and healing become the cornerstones of governance.
In remembering the victims and supporting their kin, the government has reaffirmed the idea of India—where no family that has borne the burden of terror is left behind, and every sacrifice is honoured with action.
