Kathua, Aug 6: Continuing its crackdown against drug peddlers, J&K Police Kathua has arrested one person and recovered 06.52 grams of heroine like substance, along with cash ₹6000, a smartphone, and an electronic weighing machine from Naka Ujh Bridge -Mandli PS Billawar area. Acting on reliable information, a police team from PS Billawar led by Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq SHO PS Billawar under the guidance of SDPO Billawar Sh. Neeraj Padyar, under the overall supervison of SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS established a naka near Ujh Bridge, Mandli. During checking a Tractor Trolley bearing registration number JK08Q-0774 was intercepted. The driver of the vehicle, on seeing the police party, tried to flee but was successfully apprehended. The accused was identified as > Alam Deen S/o Eka R/o Ramkot, Tehsil Ramkot, District Kathua During his personal search, a transparent polythene wrap containing 6.52 grams of heroine like substance , Additionally, one weighing machine , Redmi smartphone and ₹6000 cash were also recovered. All the items were seized on the spot in accordance with law and the accused was taken into custody. In this connection, a case FIR No. 117/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Billawar, and further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages involved in the supply chain of drug supply in the area. |
