Jammu, Aug 10: In a remarkable celebration of multilingualism and cultural heritage, Bhasha Sampada Samaroh – Interschool 3rd Language Competition 2025 was hosted by Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu . The event brought together students from over twenty reputed schools across the city to honour the beauty of regional and foreign languages taught as third languages, including Dogri, Sanskrit, French, Urdu, and Punjabi. The competition featured a variety of vibrant events such as Stotra Gaayan in Sanskrit, Ghazal recitation in Urdu, poetry in French, Paakh in Dogri, and speeches on freedom fighters in Punjabi — all conducted in their respective languages, highlighting the linguistic and cultural diversity of India. The celebration began with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, followed by the traditional sapling presentation, lamp lighting, Saraswati Vandana, and a graceful welcome dance.The event was graced by Chief Guest ;Narendra Trehan (President, Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, J&K), and a distinguished panel of judges: Dr. Satya Priya (Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu),Dr. Shahnaz Qadri (Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of Urdu, GDC Sidhra),Lokesh Kumar (Principal, Cambridge International School, Kathua), Asha Kesar (Renowned Dogri Folk Singer) and S. Manjit Singh Maskin (TGT Music & Punjabi Teacher, W.J.N.M. School, Jammu) Addressing the gathering, Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson of the school, stated, “India represents unity in diversity. The third language serves as a unifying thread that connects regions, communities, and hearts.” The judges lauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of language in fostering intercultural awareness, expression, and communication. The participants captivated the audience and judges with their confidence, fluency, and deep cultural insight. The competition proved to be an excellent platform to enhance students’ language proficiency and public speaking skills. Winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates, while all participants were awarded certificates of participation as a token of appreciation. The Chief Guest praised Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu for being the first school to organize such a vibrant platform celebrating five languages on one stage, setting an inspiring precedent. The program concluded on a high note with cultural dance performances and a melodious Dogri Paakh presentation by Judge Asha Kesar, on popular demand. A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Geetika Sharma (HOD, Third Languages Department), who acknowledged the collective effort of the entire JSS family in making the event a grand success. |
