Two drug peddlers arrested by Miran Sahib police

JAMMU, Aug 14: Continuing its actions against drug pedlars, Police Station Miran Sahib, Jammu successfully apprehended two suspected drug peddlers and recovered approximately 11 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) from their possession. The recovery marks one more step by Jammu Police in its ongoing efforts to curb the illegal drug trade and safeguard the youth from its harmful impact.
The operation was executed by a dedicated police party of P/S Miran Sahib, led by SHO Inspector Azad Manhas, working under the c supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and the overall guidance of SP Headquarters Jammu.
The coordinated efforts, vigilance, and timely action ensured the successful interception and arrest of the accused persons involved in the illegal possession of contraband.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Mohd. Salman Sardar, S/O Mohd. Gaffer Sardar, R/O Jaipur, Rajasthan
Majid Manzoor Wani, S/O Manzoor Ahmed Wani, R/O Natipura, Srinagar
During the course of the operation, a thorough personal search of the accused was conducted, which led to the recovery of the contraband substance. Following the recovery, a case FIR No. 105/2025 was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act (Sections 8/21/22/29/60).
Further investigation into the case has been initiated to trace the source of the narcotics and identify any other individuals or networks connected to this illegal trade. Police are determined to follow all leads to dismantle the chain of supply and bring all offenders to justice.
