Divisional Commissioner flags off Maha Tiranga Yatra in Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 14: A large number of people from all walks of life participated in the Maha Tiranga Yatra held in Jammu from Gulshan Ground, PHQ to Hari Singh Park. The Yatra was flagged off by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, in the presence of dignitaries.
Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLAs Arvind Gupta and Vikram Randhawa, DDC member Taranjit Singh Tony, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Commissioner JMC Dr Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, members of civil society, students, school staff and the general public participated in the event. Elected representatives, civil society members, students and teachers carried the Tricolour while chanting "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram," reflecting a strong sense of national pride.
Participants also took a pledge to maintain cleanliness, use resources judiciously and contribute actively to national development. Dignitaries planted saplings at Hari Singh Park to promote conservation of nature.
The Yatra concluded with patriotic songs by students, who also performed a dance to mark the Independence Day celebrations.
