Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 14: Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and emotion by Parivartan (Change We Need), an NGO working for the upliftment of underprivileged children. The celebration aimed to instill patriotism, inspire young minds, and give them a platform to showcase their talents. Around 80 children participated in the event, which featured a moving skit on the lives and sacrifices of India's freedom fighters. The performance left the audience inspired and deepened the children's understanding of the value of freedom. The day also saw age-wise competitions including patriotic song and dance, flag drawing and decoration, and a fancy dress contest. Winners were felicitated with prizes to recognise their efforts and encourage them further. The event's success was made possible by the dedication of young volunteers - Balram, Shailender, Nandini, Dhanraj, Aman, Armaan, Aarti, Neeharika Dixit, Aarav Dixit, and Harshil Raina and the committed Parivartan team Shipra Shrivastav, Aindri Shrivastav, Madhu Modgil, Geetanjali Rao Yadav, Santosh Modgil and Shalini Singh. Santosh Modgil was the chief guest. President of Parivartan, Ms. Romi Sharma, shared, "Every year we celebrate Independence Day with the same spirit to remind our children of the sacrifices behind our freedom. These programs not only strengthen their patriotic values but also give them a chance to explore and present their hidden talents." The celebration concluded with the national anthem, sweet distribution, and a shared pledge to contribute towards the nation's growth. |
