DG ITBP visits Udhampur, flag hoisting celebrations held | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Aug 16: On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, a grand ceremony of hoisting the national flag was organized at 15th Battalion, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Udhampur. On this occasion, Director General Shri Rahul Rasgotra, IPS, hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the parade. After hoisting ceremony, he extended his heartfelt greetings to the present Himveers, Veeranganas and their families and said that Independence Day is a day to remember the sacrifices of our martyrs and freedom fighters. Himveers are always ready to protect the borders of the country and their courage and dedication is an inspiration for the entire country. In his address, the Director General praised the unwavering service spirit of jawans even in difficult circumstances and said that the history of ITBP is full of valor, discipline and patriotism. He also paid respectful tribute to the Veeranganas and said that the achievements of the force would not have been possible without their dedication and cooperation. Rasgotra had a cordial meeting with the retired Himveers. He listened to their experiences and suggestions attentively and assured appropriate action for early resolution of their problems. Reiterating the force's unwavering commitment towards the retired Himveers, he wished them for their bright future and good health. On this occasion, all the retired Himveers were honoured by presenting them Veteran's cap as a mark of respect. Additional Director General (Western Command), Shri Sanjay Chowdhary, Deputy Inspector General (Srinagar), Shri Anil Kumar Phool and Commandant of 15th Battalion, ITBP, Shri Rakesh Kumar were specially present at the occasion. All the officers and jawans together celebrated this national festival with patriotism and enthusiasm. |
