Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 18: MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa today inaugurated the Lane and Drain work near Rainbow Public School in Gandhi Nagar, Ward No. 20, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the residents. The inauguration was attended by officials from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), prominent local dignitaries, and enthusiastic residents. Prominent among those present were Rahul Kumar (Mandal President), Satbir Singh, Bhushan Verma, Rajesh Sharma, Aman Goswami, Daljeet Singh, Harshdeep, along with other respected citizens of the locality. Addressing the gathering, MLA Randhawa said, "Proper lanes and drainage are essential not only for infrastructure but also for public health and cleanliness. This project will resolve the long-standing issue of waterlogging and unhygienic conditions faced by people, especially during rains." He further emphasized the importance of the Swachh Bharat - Swasth Bharat mission, adding that development cannot be complete without ensuring a clean environment. He assured that more such works will be initiated in other wards of Gandhi Nagar and Bahu constituency to provide better civic amenities to all households. He urged residents to cooperate with the administration by maintaining cleanliness and using the facilities responsibly. "Government can provide facilities, but it is the joint responsibility of people to safeguard and maintain them," he added. Local residents and dignitaries welcomed the move, thanking the MLA for taking up their demand on priority. Rahul Kumar, Mandal President, lauded the efforts of MLA Randhawa, saying, "He has always been attentive to public needs, and this project is proof of his commitment to people's welfare." |
