| ACD Doda reviews progress on developmental works, scheme implementation | | |  Early Times Report
DODA, Aug 19: Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Din Mohammad Afaqi today reviewed the status of developmental schemes and related activities at a meeting attended by the Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing (REW) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) of the district. The meeting was aimed at assessing the progress, addressing bottlenecks, and ensuring timely implementation of works under different flagship programmes.
During the deliberations, the ACD took stock of the supplementary plan under MGNREGA, the preparation of estimates under the Capex budget, and the status of Administrative Approval (AA) accorded projects. He also reviewed the process of verification of beneficiary cases under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), plan proposal under Rural Connectivity (RC). The ACD also discussed the progress of works already started under MGNREGA and directed officers to ensure quality standards and community participation.
Special focus was laid on the settlement of Audit Paras and Social Audit observations to maintain transparency and accountability. The ACD directed that all records be properly handed over to the Panchayat Account Assistants (PAAs) for better monitoring and financial management. Further, he emphasized timely payment against SOS works to avoid delays and to encourage effective execution of works at the grassroots level. The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms, improve coordination between field functionaries, and adopt innovative measures to accelerate development in rural areas. ACD Din Mohd Afaqi urged all BDOs to maintain close liaison with panchayats, ensure proper documentation, and adhere to timelines, so that the benefits of various welfare and developmental schemes effectively reach the people of Doda district. |
