TANGMARG, Aug 20: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah, JKAS today reviewed the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission and embarked on an extensive tour of Tangmarg to inspect various Water Supply Schemes (WSS).
The Mission Director was accompanied by Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Baramulla/Bandipora Mr. Faisal Abdullah, Executive Engineer FBI Division Tangmarg and Sub- Divisional officials.
Reviewing the progress in execution of schemes, it was informed that out of 23 schemes 16 stands completed. Out of the 38 allotted works pertaining to civil component, 27 works have been completed so far and work is going on rest of the projects. The works comprise of Bore wells, Rapid Sand Filtration Plants (RSFP), Over Head Tanks (OHT), Pipe Networks, Slow Sand Filtration Plants (SSFP), General Service Reservoirs (GSR) and Pump Rooms.
During the visit, the Mission Director reviewed the progress of water supply schemes under JJM, focusing on the sustainability of water sources and technical feasibility of ongoing projects. He emphasized the need for timely completion of schemes to achieve the target of providing functional household tap connections and Har Ghar Jal certification to all rural households in the area. The visit also included interaction with locals, officials and field staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and to resolve any implementation challenges. This initiative aligns with JJM's broader objectives of ensuring safe and adequate drinking water access to every household in rural Jammu and Kashmir through sustainable water supply infrastructure.
The chair was informed that out of 19098 total Households 18664 Households have been provided with Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs).
The Mission Director enjoined upon officers to give a renewed push to enhance pace of providing remaining Functional House Hold Tap Connections (FHTCs).
