Govt MAM College concluded three-day Induction/Orientation Programme

JAMMU, Aug 20: Government Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu under the able guidance of Principal Archana Kaul, inaugurated three Day Induction/Orientation Programme w.e.f. 18th of August to 20th of August 2025 for the students of Semester 1. On 18th of August in the inaugural session Saraswati Vandana was recited by the students of Music Department. Professor Ruth K. Masehi welcomed the students of first semester and deliberated on the importance of Orientation programme for the students. Principal of the college Prof. Archana Kaul addressed the students and advised them to create a positive environment in the campus. She made students aware about the rules, regulations and functioning of the college. The co-ordinators of the different committees/wings: Professor Gagandeep Jangral (NCC), Prof. Menaka Rajput(NSS, Viksit Bharat), Neenu (Physical Director), Prof. Amitpal Kour (Yuvtrang), Dr. Seema Sudan (CASH) and Prof. Ruth K. Masehi (Student Welfare Committee) emphasized the importance of various committees and motivated the students to join them. All the HOD's and members of the organizing committee were present during the programme.
On 19th of August Ajay Sharma S.P. South delivered a lecture on cyber safety, ethics and the state of drug abuse in society. Dr. Arti Sharma from the Health Department delivered a lecture on impact of drug abuse on physical, psychological and mental health of an individual. Prof. Shambhoo Nath, Convener Scholarship Committee gave a lecture to students to avail scholarship and explained all the formalities associated with it. A skit on drug addiction was enacted by the students of NCC and NSS (3rd and 5th Sem.) which was highly appreciated by the guests present during the function.
On the third day the session began with a lecture on stress management and mental health awareness by Dr. Himani. She made the students aware about the various techniques to handle stress. Advocate Jyoti Sharma conducted second lecture on various aspects of sexual harassment. She delineated in detail the various guidelines against sexual harassment at workplace. She also talked in detail about the various provisions of Constitution. A skit on ragging was enacted by the students of NCC AND NSS. (3rd and 5th Sem.). A cultural programme was also performed by the students of 3rd and 5th semester. The three day's report of the event was presented by Dr. Satinder Juneja. In the Valedictory function the Principal Prof. Archana Kaul addressed the students. She motivated the students to create healthy environment in the campus and advised them to attend their classes regularly. She also emphasised on the importance of maintaining discipline in the campus.
The proceedings of the entire programme were conducted by Professor Menaka Rajput. Today's programme concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Vibhuti.
