Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 20: In a significant outreach effort to promote employment generation under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), officers of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office Jammu, held a meeting with Dr. Riaz Ahmed, JKAS, General Manager (Operations), J&K Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC), Jammu. As a senior officer of JKTDC, Dr. Ahmed's engagement with EPFO officers marked an important step in strengthening collaboration for effective implementation of the newly launched scheme in Jammu & Kashmir. Alongside the meeting, EPFO also conducted an awareness seminar at JKTDC Jammu to educate establishments about the objectives, benefits, and implementation framework of Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana. The session was led by Sh. Bal Krishan, Enforcement Officer, and Sh. Jatin Gupta, Accounts Officer, who detailed the scheme's provisions aimed at job creation and formal workforce expansion. Launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 15th August 2025, Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana is expected to benefit 1.92 crore first-time employees and create over 3.5 crore new jobs across India, with a focus on the manufacturing sector. Role of establishments in fostering formal employment and social security. The event witnessed participation of around 25-35 stakeholders, including top management and HR officials, who appreciated EPFO's proactive efforts in demystifying the scheme. Ms. Sakshi Matoo Sambyal, EPFO Signatory, JKTDC Jammu, welcomed the initiative, observing that the scheme would go a long way in creating sustainable employment opportunities and extending social security to the workforce.
