Early Times Report DRASS, Aug 27: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today paid heartfelt homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation at the Drass War Memorial. Accompanied by his wife, Smt Bindu Gupta, the Lt Governor offered floral tributes at the memorial and observed a solemn silence in remembrance of the martyrs. The Lt Governor, along with his wife, turned emotional with moist eyes while witnessing the Soldiers' Last Letters and Pictures framed in the Hut of Remembrance in the War Memorial. Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor said that the Drass War Memorial is a sacred place of remembrance and a symbol of the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces. "The supreme sacrifices made by our bravehearts will forever inspire generations to uphold the ideals of duty, honour, and nation first," he added. The Lt Governor reiterated the UT Administration's unwavering commitment to the welfare of soldiers, veterans, and their families, noting that it is the collective responsibility of the nation to honour their service and sacrifice. |
