Infiltration bid foiled in Gurez, 2 terrorists killed: Army | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 28: Army on Thursday said that it foiled an infiltration bid by killing two terrorists along Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Gurez sector in Bandipora District. The Army's Chinar Corps in a post on X said that based on intelligence provided by JKP regarding a likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army and @JmuKmrPolice in Gurez Sector. “Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists,” it said, adding that the operation is in progress. Meanwhile, officials said that security forces along the LoC are alert, ensuring robust border security in the face of any threats. This heightened vigilance spans key frontier areas, including Gurez, Uri, Karnah and Tangdhar sectors in North Kashmir. The officials said that troops have intensified surveillance and patrolling along the LoC, maintaining strict domination over the sensitive border region. “Our forces are fully alert and prepared to respond swiftly to any infiltration attempts," the officials added. |
