Chandigarh, Sept 3: Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women witnessed vibrant democratic spirit as students turned out enthusiastically to elect their Student Council representatives in elections held today. The polling process was conducted in a smooth, fair, and transparent manner, reflecting the college’s commitment to fostering leadership and participatory governance among its students. A total of 759 students exercised their right to vote, making their voices count in shaping the new council. Aparajita Bali of BA III was elected as President, while Aarushi Bakshi of BA III, Ojasvita Kaur of BA II, and Anvee Thakur of BA III were chosen as Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary, respectively. Expressing their gratitude, the newly elected members acknowledged the trust reposed in them and pledged to uphold the values of the institution while working tirelessly to take the college to greater heights. Congratulating the winners, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma said that at MCM, Student Council Elections are a celebration of democracy and leadership. She added that every year, this exercise not only strengthens student participation but also serves as a stepping stone in preparing them as responsible leaders of tomorrow. She urged the council to work collaboratively with the college in nurturing leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit among students.
