Railway staff rushed woman and newborn baby to hospital after delivery in train near Banihal Railway Station in Kashmir Valley | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 3: Railway staff at Banihal Railway Station in Kashmir Valley in Jammu Division rushed a female passenger and her newborn baby to a local hospital after delivery in train near Banihal Station. The female passenger named Akhtara Bano was accompanied by her husband Mohammad Ashraf during the journey and they were residents of Sumbar village. The family was travelling in train no. 64651, which is an unreserved train and runs daily between Sangaldan and Baramulla in Kashmir. As soon as the train reached Banihal, the woman started experiencing severe labour pain. She delivered a baby in the train itself with the help of female co-passengers. The passengers present in the train immediately informed the station master. On receiving the information, Station Manager of Banihal station A B Bali and other railway employees Lalit Kumar, Mudassir Ahmed, Manzoor Ahmed arranged to take the child to the nearest hospital for further treatment. So that the mother and child could get the necessary treatment. During this time RPF and GRP staff were also present on the train and station. The family thanked the railway employees for their quick response. On this incident, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Division Uchit Singhal and Railway Area Manager of Kashmir Valley Saqib Yusuf praised the promptness and humanity of the passengers and railway employees who helped in difficult times. And said that this incident is an excellent example of coordination between the employee and the common passengers which played an important role in saving a life. |
